Ginnie Seger is an award winning digital storyteller who believes that stories can connect people and create a more empathetic world. From documenting the Let Girls Learn campaign at the White House, to following Fulbright Scholars on a train through the American South, and producing and editing a short documentary in Kenya on the impact of PEPFAR’s 15 years of work, Ginnie uses empathy and journalistic rigor to create videos that resonate with audiences. She has spent 8 years working at the U.S. Department of State, where she has made more than 200 multimedia products that have been distributed all over the world.
She has served in the Peace Corps, as a Behavior Change Communication Specialist, and teacher at a school for the Deaf in Kenya. She earned her Master’s degree in International Media from American University and her Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ginnie is a founding board member of the non-profit, Northstar Tutoring and has volunteered there for 7 years.
In her spare time Ginnie is a storyteller, improvisor, and comedienne which brings her both the ability to connect with others, and the ability to fail with grace.
